President Bush’s plan to make increased defence spending “a centrepiece” of his federal budget request is good news. It’s evidence that the war on terrorism remains, as it should, the president’s top priority. “I have the responsibility to prepare the nation for what lies ahead,” Bush told the Reserve Officers Association yesterday.
The president’s defence spending plan is a war budget. Not only does it include a $10 billion “war reserve,” but the balance of the intended increase is targeted at strengthening the forces needed to fight the war. Other than a slight rise in spending for missile defence and space systems, the remaining $38 billion.
YOU GET THE POINT.
You can't help but see the thinking of the people at the top, the A.I. & nanotech systems that will be produced by this ideology are still being seen as humanly controlled technologies. The people behind this thinking are the same people profiting from it, so it is in there interest to develop this stuff, but on a species level, this is extremely dangerous. The biggest threat does not come from weapons of mass destruction it comes from people being able to get hold of them?
If we hadn't developed them in the first place, then terrorists would not be able to get hold of them, OK nuclear / chemical and biological weapons have already been produced, A.I. / nanotech weapons at least to my knowledge, have not. The question we should all be asking ourselves, is this, should we allow the same ideology that introduced WMD to be left in place, especially considering the dangers these technologies represent, to every single life form on the planet?
It's fear culture, the hierarchal power structures and the people at the top need to realise, there is a very good chance they will not be able to control this new technology etc, it is increasingly likely, that this new technology could control ALL of us.
This new technology combined with competing global forces, governments./ militaries / corporations, etc = ?
