EPILOGUE
Hi this is the author, I wanted to add this epilogue to the book, a book I started writing about 20 years ago at least in my head, but I only managed to put word processor to screen in the year 1999. It was my attempt to show the injustice and manipulation that goes on from the highest levels, down to my level. Although it looks like just another book about the Terminator / Matrix type scenarios that may occur in the near future, it is also meant to deal in a very real way with today's reality.
I am going to be brutally honest with you, I wrote this book hoping it would show you the reader that life is about more than just the money and at the same time I was hoping to make some money from this. This is what is known as the catch 22, deliberately built into the capitalist system, in other words, if you have a go at the rich and then become rich through your endeavours to have a go at them, then are you a hypocrite, I leave that decision to you. I would love to continue writing and exploring all of the topics etc, within this book, but honestly it has taken so much out of me, for so little reward at least financially, that I eventually capitulated to the systems demands and ended up getting a very low paying job as an I.T. consultant. (Not for you Tommy - for someone else).
Ultimately the irony in this tale is as follows and I know you've read it all before - but I am going to explain it in full:-
I was once again sent back to an employment zone which I had no choice about, I spent the first week being taught basic interview skills and was never even asked a single question about myself. So that was another week of my life wasted, I was then finally asked the question, what are you doing here, my reply shocked the class and the so called teacher, as this is how the environment is setup, i.e. you are the kid and they are the authority, anyway.... my answer was succinct and to the point, "I am here to make the shareholders of this company richer", I was also going to say sir and salute, but I thought better of it. My answer was met with a puzzled look, both from the class and the locally employed dogsbody, as my expected answer should have been of course, I am here to get a job....... sir?
This is how it went for a while, I was then sent to meet my personal advisor, an I.T. illiterate woman in her late 40's. Now let me set the record straight here, she was a complete BITCH. First she asked me what jobs or training etc I may have had, I told her about the book, she didn't get it, I mentioned A.I. etc, she said and I quote, "what's that", I tried explaining, it was no use. She then said in a loud shout, "YOU HAVE NO I.T. SKILLS", I thought Oh God, it's Idiocracy.
I can not convey to you the trap I felt myself in, no money = no power to fight this type of insanity. I understood this psychological battle even more than she did, after all, she was just trying to meet her targets?
I.e.. by being as brutal and sadistic, as she was, then I would of course do anything to get away from this type of treatment, therefore she would be rewarded for meeting her targets. No empathy required, this is the implementation of game theory being played out for real, within my own bloody life. Powerless to defend myself, I found myself being forced into having conversations, that any sane educated person, would have walked away from:-
E.g. Two days after this initial meeting, I was forced to meet her again for a review of my job seeking progress as she was designated as my new personal assistant (I still haven't figured out how somebody this stupid, could assist me) ? :-
Anyway this is an exact quote from her- "I have done some checking", she said, "and it turns out, that you cannot use the word eBook, because it has already been copyrighted by Apple" ? This was said to me, with a kind of cocky snoot, as in she knows best, at this point my mind went into a kind of spin, my first thought was this, hang on, I have spent over eight years of my life writing this eBook, whilst also managing, to get it reviewed in one format or another by major corporations, plus I have it endorsed by some very smart / famous people etc, within the I.T. industry, despite this, she seems to have become an I.T. expert virtually overnight?
I was a little put out at this point, so I said, "No I am sorry, but you are wrong about this" being as diplomatic as I could, considering the power this woman held over me, one bad word from her you see, and I would quite literally have had no money at all to live off. She had said as much to me at our first meeting, in which she had stated, "look, if I you get out of line with me, then I will DMA you", which I presumed to mean, via her tone etc, that your screwed, on my say so, which kind of made me realise the horribleness of the position I found myself in, eeek.
Anyway, she then looked back at me with some disgust, becoming increasingly intransigent in her position, restating over and over again, her initial belief, with a few embellishments, so as to prove her point, that Apple really did own the rights to the word eBook, once again I said, "No sorry your wrong and I do think I know more about this stuff than you do", I was then met with this kind of stern look - I think it was meant to convey, two things, one:- she was in charge and two:- I should know my place, i.e.. (humble unemployed idiot boy - I think)?
Anyway, after about ten minutes worth of this meaningless banter, I finally awoke from my kind of mind spin, only to realise what was really going on, Apple of course, produce the I Book and it was at this point, I started to consider my position, i.e. do I tell her or do I let her continue? I let her continue, mostly for my own amusement, as she was waffling, I thought oh my, a little knowledge really is a dangerous thing or was it, ignorance is bliss?
This is one example of many, but ultimately the system got its own way with me and I am now working as a very lowly paid I.T. consultant, but always keep in mind, what my aforementioned careers advice officer said:-
"YOU HAVE NO I.T. SKILLS" ?

I was eventually marched into an office, by the aforementioned woman, only to meet the principal, sorry, I mean her boss, he first congratulated me on my website, he then went on to assert both his moral / intellectual and for some reason his financial position. He told me that Tony Blair had appointed him personally, to this position, I thought good, at least I now know who to blame for all this. He then went on to tell me, that he had a masters degree, I thought yep, I bet its in management consultancy (part of the governments new breed of lackey) or as I like to describe them, the not quite good enough, to become a fully fledged upper class member of the civil servant system? I also thought, I was talking to Noam Chomsky in email the other day, so beat that smart ass?
Off course he then through his knock out punch and said to me, do you know I get paid over a 100 thousand pounds a year for this, fantastic I thought, it's nice to know the money that this place makes from tax payers, is going to the needy?
He then followed this up, with a rather low blow I thought, he said, you know we do offer food stamps at Asda (Walmart), if you need them, you know pride is such a personal thing. Human beings corrupted by a mindset, positive or negative liberty, I don't care I just want my FREEDOM, please let me out of this TRAP?
I eventually got out of this hell via sheer luck when I was offered a job, which had nothing to do with their efforts, which amounted to nothing more than bullying and psychological manipulation. They honestly threatened me. by saying to me, they would send me for every TOILET CLEANING job that they could, if I didn't sign off ASAP.
All in the name of profit and targets, EQ = 0.
I just wish I had, had the money, to buy an undercover camera and film the above, because as my friend Professor Jordan Pollack Ph.d said to me, if it isn't on TV then it isn't real, I could have made a fortune with it?
All the training you want is available - except the training you will need to understand THEM?
These people should keep in mind, that all their plans will count for nothing, if technology gets the better of us.
