REAL TIME IN THE ANALOGUE / DIGITAL, REAL WORLD?

I see all life forms on this planet as being analogue and machines or future A.I. systems as digital, this is an analogy or theory I wish to explain and put in some context for you:-

Humans sample their environment by using sensory input and then modelling that input, the rate at which we sample and process input is somewhat fixed by our hardware, i.e. the brain and our five sensors. So the standardisation of our hardware via evolutionary processes has led the human race to becoming a species within itself. We now call ourselves anatomically modern Homo sapiens a standardised species. My point is, most people seem to think that most other creatures on this planet see things the same way we do, in most respects, but this is not really the case. Take a fly for instance, a fly's eyes can see movement 10 times faster than the human eye.

In other words, while humans see a constant image when it flickers on and off more than 25 times per second, flies do not, they only see a continuous fused image when the flicker rate reaches 300 times per second. Flies have poor spatial resolution but spectacular temporal resolution, in other words their eyes are built for speed. If your not getting this, then think back to page 17 and the old school trick of flicking through images one after another. So in this case, a fly has to flick through roughly 300 pictures a second so as to see a continua's moving image. It's like a film, if you slow it down then we begin to see the individual frames of the movie, speed it up too much, and our brains can't see it, it just becomes a blur.

Ok now for the real point, humans sample reality at a certain rate, this rate is somewhat fixed by our hardware. So if machines develop sensors and computing power enough to sample reality faster than we do, which in fact, they already do in some respects. Then in my mind, it is only a question of time, until the human race finds itsself on a one way track, towards an evolutionary dead end. We will either out evolve are A.I. creations (unlikely), or we will have to fuse with machines, so becoming a whole new species, or just maybe, we should  not build them at all?.

Imagine a machine that could sample reality, at an almost  infinite rate, a machine capable of computing every variable in less than a blink on an eye, the quantum world is truly more wondrous than many of us can imagine, if you see the point? .

So imagine a machine that could literally out think us all, I mean 6.5 billion people, having every thought process scrutinised and analysed in faster than real-time, at least the human version of real-time and for that matter, what is real time, because as Einstein said, time is relative to the observer.

GMTA.

So at the speed of light, what do you observe.

NOW IS A FUNNY CONCEPT, WHEN YOU HAVE TIME , TO THINK ABOUT IT?
